gee, I got no clue what to write here... I'm 29, I did a whole lot of things in these twenty-nine years, but nothing exciting enough to incite your interest, I reckon... I jobbed a lot, your average got-to-scrape-some-money jobs, I studied English and Philosphy, and currently, I'm trying to complete my Law degree. As I said, it's not very exciting :(
In my leisure time, I like to read, write on my award-winning novel (expected publishing date: 2019), meet up with my friends, and cooking (again, for my friends). NO, I do no sports at all, and I don't think anything is going to change about this dislike anytime soon.
So... what else... my favourites, perhaps?
my favourite MOVIES... oh, where to start, really! The Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind I ought to name as The number one on my list, I reckon. If you don't know it - it's marvellous, though I'm not sure everyone will like it, or even appreciate it. That movie really means a lot to me. Otherwise, I absolutely love The Fabulous World Of Amélie Poulain, Room With A View, Emma (1996), both the new and the '95 Pride And Prejudice, Persuasion (1995), Luhrman's Romeo And Juliet, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, Dangerous Liasions, Cypher, Clueless, all the Ocean's movies, Star Wars (but only Episode III - VI), the Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy, the Harry Potter movies, the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Wedding Singer, Chocolate, Strange Days, Sabrina, Breakfast At Tiffany's, The Philadelphia Story, LA Confidential, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepy Hollow, Addicted To Love, Gosford Park, Reality Bites, Dogma, Keeping Mum, Finding Nemo, One-Two-Three, Coppola's Dracula, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, A Fish Called Wanda, Seven, Sin City, Ants, Matchpoint, La Haine... I got to stop here, right? (and yes, I know, my taste in films is more than shallow)
my favourite TV SHOWS... Gilmore Girls, Coupling, Twin Peaks, American Gothic, Monkey Dust, Jonathan Creek, Columbo, Monk, Mein Leben Und Ich, Daria
my favourite ACTRESSES/ACTORS... Gwyneth Paltrow, Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Hepburn, Maggie Smith, Helena Bonham Carter, Toni Colette, Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, Winona Ryder, Alan Rickman, Jeremy Northam, Johnny Depp, Colin Firth, Jason Isaacs, Jack Nicholson, Jack Davenport, John Cleese, Ralph Fiennes, Christian Bale, Christopher Lee, Gary Oldman, Cary Grant, Julian Sands, Chow Yun Fat, George Clooney, John Cusack
my favourite BOOKS... this is going to be worse even than my film list, so I try to make it a bit more crisp, eh? All-time-favourite: The Name Of The Rose, unrivalled up there, the first 'great' book I ever read and my measure for how a good book ought to be. The Book Of Disquietude, My Name Is Red, Everything Is Illuminated, Crime And Punishment, Breakfast At Tiffany's, Elementary Particles, Ulysses, Huis Close, Tristram Shandy, Die Räuber, White Teeth, Heart Of Darkness, His Dark Materials, plus every line I ever read from Jane Austen, J.L. Borges, Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde and a bit anticlimatically - Nick Hornby and Bill Bryson.
my favourite POETRY... is from Else Lasker Schüler, Baudelaire, Milton, Shakespeare, Byron, John Donne and WH Auden
my favourite VILLAINS... O-Ren Ishii, Sheriff Lucas Buck, Richard III, Darth Vader (my first villain so to speak ;), Marquise De Merteuil, Dracula, Dorian Gray, Mrs Coulter, Jorge Of Burgos, Franz Moor, Warlock (yes the one from the otherwise so hilarious movie), Bellatrix Lestrange, and that cat from Cats And Dogs
my favourite HEROES AND HEROINES... Severus Snape (I don't think he'll be replaced so soon on the top spot of that list), Emma Woodhouse, Lord Asriel, Cyrano De Bergerac, Amélie Poulain, Trinity (if you manage to ignore Matrix II and III), Shirin (from My Name Is Red) and Beatrice (from Much Ado About Nothing)
my favourite MUSIC... Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Placebo, Nirvana and strange as it may appear in this list, the Beastie Boys. I also enjoy Swing, Klezmer and some bits of Classic. To keep it short here (I can't help thinking this is FAR too long already) - my top three songs-of-all-time: NIN's Hurt, 2. Depeche Mode's Never Let Me Down Again, 3. Sting's Mad About You
my favourite ALBUMS... 1. NIN, The Downward Spiral, 2. Beastie Boys, Ill Communication, 3. The Cure, Disintegration, 4. Depeche Mode, Songs Of Faith And Devotion, 5. Placebo, Sleeping With Ghosts, 6. Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here, 7. Depeche Mode, Music For The Masses, 8. Sting, The Soul Cages, 9. Linkin Park, Hybrid Theory, 10. Beethoven, Appassionata
favourite MEDLEY ;)... COLOUR - black, bordeaux ... FLOWERS - Calla lilies ... FOOD - Indian ... DRINK - black coffee and Ricard on ice ... ANIMAL - my darling bonnie dog ... SWEETS - plain chocolate (the only sweets I really like actually) ... ARTISTS - I know shit about art, frankly, but presently, I took a great liking in the Preraffaelites, and Rodin is one of my all-time-favourites
... and finally... an explanation of the username, perhaps... after twenty tries to get one that I could hope to actually remember, I took THIS ONE because it is the link to the quote THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS IS A GENTLEMAN... so, that's it now, right?
